In 2024, Hand Up Toronto reached a pivotal moment in our mission to end food insecurity. We strategically shifted our approach to deepen the impact of our Family Support Program (FSP) by focusing on the Scadding Court community. This allowed us to move beyond short-term relief toward building stronger community relationships and providing consistent access to nutritious food.

As 2023 represented a return to normal, that normal was different from before the pandemic. This has led to us adjusting our focus to continue to meet families where they need us most, continuing our with contactless delivery model and focusing on different regions of the cities that are underserved.

We have grown from a small grassroot charity to one that has a stronger sense of purpose and more
efficient practices. This has led to a tremendous impact on our community, reducing food insecurity scores -21% since 2020.

While 2020 was a year full of uncertainty, 2021 offered a glimpse of what a return to normal from the pandemic might look like.

2020 has been an unimaginable year where we faced tremendous challenges. The global pandemic compounded the level of food insecurity across the world and highlighted these issues in our own communities.
